I don't have a problem with SPP 45 auto. I sort all my brass anyway after tumbling and I just put them in a separate pile. They shoot just as well as LPP and are usually only once fired. My brother can't stand them and gives me all the ones he finds.

Put all the SPP 45 aside for me. I?ll take them.

I like to use these at big matches where we are not allowed to pick up our own brass.

Well, he gets it. They don't bother me. I'll take 'em.

It's funny. I do dislike the small primer 45 ACP stuff, but I don't mind the small rifle 308 brass. I dislike the small primer 45 ACP because that takes away from 9mm, 357, etc.

Honestly it's annoying, but being able to use 2 different primers on 45 ACP is useful if you are low on large or small primers. It gives you options, and from my experience it still works fine.

I sort 45 ACP by primer size. When the SPP stash hits 500 I load them up.

Free brass is what range pickups are, so it makes me no never mind. With the primer shortage and I have two boxes of 45 ACP brass, SPP and LPP. Whatever primers I manage to get I am rolling 45 ACP.

I actually like SPP. I sort them and when I change my Dillon from 9 mm to .45 SPP, I don't even have to change the primer station. LOL, easy peasy and when I go back to 9 mm from .45 SPP, again no primer station change again.

I have one club member who used to shoot small primer 45. had to sort by headstamp and it takes a while.

I still double check as I?m depriming them (shuck I do by hand). I load on a Dillon 650 so I don?t want anything to break my rhythm.
I actually ran into a couple of SPP .45 ACP cases on my Lee Pro 6000 (their new 6-stage progressive press). Turns out not to be that big of a problem, at least on that press. I just pluck it out, set it aside, and keep going. It really doesn't break my rhythm much, therefore it doesn't slow me down much. The key is to know how things feel on your press, and when you feel something that doesn't feel like a standard "primer seat", you just pluck out that case and have a look.

This also applies when there are LPP .45 ACP cases whose primer pockets don't have hardly any beveling, such as Sellier & Bellot cases. They're good cases, but they're kind of tight. I set those aside as well and run those through the primer pocket swager.

I keep the SPP 45's for a rainy day if I can't get LPP for some reason.

Sorting is a bit of a pain, but I just decap them all on a single stage before prep. granted I'm not doing 5K at a time.

S&B cases I treat like crimped primer pockets. Every caliber from them is tight...

Yep, I got rid of SPP .45acp brass years ago and I only have thousands of LPP brass to reload. I don't pick up any brass at the range (I've got all I need at home) so nothing gets mixed up.
