It blows me away when folks state that they 'pay' themselves to reload.
I suppose that you 'pay' yourself to watch TV, relax in the hammock, or take a drive too.
      Dumb.

Those are good bullets, and affordable.

Those mixed bag bullets from AR definitely ar cheapest... But what a pain in the ***! Even the same weight bullets aren't the same profile.

You can get summit 124's for $60-70/k shipped. It's hard to beat that price, and they're excellent quality. Just hold out for the 20% off + free ship coupons they seemingly always run.

At 4 cents each, I don't really care too much and don't separate the profiles. They all shoot just fine. They're not match a bullet, but they group pretty well as my AR

Not really...I can still get them sub-$100 per 1000. Not as cheaply as before and the deals are hard to find, but I buy when I see them.

So when someone wants to buy your reloads the tune I believe would quickly change if they said they'd just pay for cost of supplies...
Again, any spare time with family or other tasks I'd want to spend it with quality and dedication, not distracted or "multi tasked".
I think the argument is everyone has their tolerance for how self reliant they want be and how to spend their time. One can probably learn to smelt steel to make sheet metal, tap a rubber tree to make tires and refine oil to gasoline for plastic, but most people just buy a car and pump their own gas.

First I would say as an individual you should not be selling your reloads to begin with, right? Secondly (in the past) Ive often bought reloaed ammo as components below the price of components for obvious reasons. But if your some kind of company selling reloads and have the cost of doing business in this state then of course you charge and I'm sure some people will pay, maybe even me.
Your right. Some people can multi task, some can't and some probably shouldn't. And if free time isn't an option for you then casting and many other things are probably not for you.
Now again we're talking about a very easy task of casting, powder coating (or lubing) and sizing. To end up with the cheapest projectiles possible. No one needs to reinvent the wheel to do this but hey some people just believe a simple task is beyond them and that's ok too.
You should have brought up selling boolits instead of selling ammo. I know a lot of people who would pay for the correctly sized boolit of a specific profile and weight. Think of all those milsurplus rifles and discontinued calibers. After all nothing wrong with selling paper weights.
                        Happy reloading

Doves might be the exception for me. I live close to BLM land, and so my dove spot is about 4 miles from my house. All it costs me is ammo (that I reload), and some gas for the ATV.
