I use 2400 for my .357 Magnum loads.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I also 2400 powder for .357 mag. No mag primer needed with 2400. Very flexible powder.

H110 for full power loads and HS-6 for med power loads and W231 for light loads. I always use small pistol magnum primers.

Accurate No. 9 for top end, Unique for the middle and I use a .38 for my low end loads.

Before I went with No. 9 I used 2400 which just wasn?t around when I restocked. Tried H110 but found the muzzle blast not worth the added fps.

I have winchester wst for .38 spl/ 9mm/ .40 and light .357 mag loads. In sale section. I also have 157 cast lead hollowpoints. WST is also used for `1 1/8 ounce trap/ sporting clays loads.

I use H-110 for mag loads and 700-X/unique usually for mild loads. I use mag primers for everything and never had problems

Bullseye and any small pistol primer has always worked for me. Ringing steel at 100yds. 2\3 ipsc

I now have three loads for .357 Magnum.

The first uses Bullseye under a 158gr cast bullet. It's similar to the old FBI .38 Special +P+ loads and burns exceptionally cleanly. Primers are SPP.

The second uses Alliant 2400 under that same 158gr cast bullet. This load is close to a full-house 2400 load, being just short of it. Again, primers are SPP's.

My third load uses H110/W296 under that same 158gr cast bullet. This definitely is a full-house load. In this case, I use strictly SPPM's (magnum SPP's) because the powder requires them for consistent ignition.

There are other fine powders for these various roles. These just happen to be the three that I use, and all work well for what I was going for.

So, which one do I shoot the most in .357M? Definitely the 2400 load, followed by the Bullseye load.

                        What is your barrel length?

2400 is slower burning and is awesome in .357 & .44 mag.

Based upon the charge, a longer barrel - say 5"+ gets a bigger velocity gain.

If shooting a 1 1/2"-3" barrel, I would choose a faster burning powder.

My warmest stuff has 296. I have some #9, but never got around to loading it. Same with 300MP (Which I think would shine in the lever gun).

Most my medium shelf stuff has Blue Dot as I have a lot of it left from lead 12g days. Same with 45 Colt at SAMi pressures.

Be very very carful reloading .357 Magnum cartridges. Full pressure loads...Don't allow for rookie mistakes.

What will you be loading these for[firearm]?
                              For my Henry[20" barrel], it's Missouri coated 180gr rnfp and 11.5gr 2400.
For BH with 6.5" barrel, its 6.0gr Universal or 13.0gr 2400 using Missouri coated 158gr rnfp. These work well in my guns.
