    Old Empty Powder Containers

Just curious to know anyone found practical uses for old or recently empty powder containers? I am thinking maybe storing bulk projectiles in them?

old ones people collect. I did for awhile but then sold them on e-bay due to lack of room.
The newer ones with a larger opening could be used
GI metal ammo cans(prefer the smaller 30cal) is what I store bullets in. A 50cal can full is just too hard on my broken down back anymore
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I use a few to hold what I refer to as working quantities of powder from 8 lb jugs. I suppose I could also use them for bulk bullets but generally speaking boxes seem to use space more efficiently than the plastic jars.

I use a one pounder for spent primers. Other than that I have no particular use for them.

I fill vintage ones with shot and use them as bookends for my reloading library.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Yeah, I too use them for discarded primers and split brass cases so that I can get them to the scrap yard.

I use them for prepped brass storage. Only use the 8# large lid Hodgen ones, for obvious reasons. I usually wait till full to reload in a session. I have a lot of brass that is reloaded and ready to shoot, and like doing 1k reloading sessions depending on caliber.

Those are rookie brass containers. I use 5 gallon buckets for brass.

I have a 2 gallon bucket nearly full. I was going to use a 5 gallon bucket, but that gets too heavy to move before it fills up.

Well since we're playing the 1-up game...

As a kid I used to reload shotgun shells for my father. He had a shop with a spare room we used just for reloading. There was a 50 gallon drum full of 20ga hulls, and another with 28ga. The 410 was in a big tote, maybe 30 gallons if I recall. Then more totes full of wads and shot came in on small pallets good times!

OP, I just throw powder jugs away now. I guess that makes me wasteful?

                        ^^^^^^This.

I have some of the older (circa 1980’s) metal ones. I have tried to sell them on eBay, but didn’t get enough to make it worth my effort.

Here's an idea a buddy of mine just thought of, fill them with sand or water and take them out to Panoche Hills and have fun blasting them.

Here are two that I filled with lead shot and use as bookends:
