Automatic or semi-auto Primer Decapper recommendation

looking for either a fully automatic or semi auto (cranking or lever action machine) for dedicated decapping device.

i've seen one on youtuve that was crank but it's not in production. seen one called ADM (automatic decapping machine) that is from italy. I dont really see anything else. dedicating a press, like a DL 750 seems like a waste, but that would cost about $1k with the machine and the autofeeder...

    thanks in advance!

Roll Sizer just came out with one.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

I saw the rollsizer. It was a bit confusing and was super expensive

Ok, yeah. LEE APP PRESS is a great deal. There has to be a way to automate it. Dont like the fact that you have to manually keep feeding casings in the top. Probably a way to weld a support bar for a dillon case feeder on top.
It's a very good option though!

Ok, rollsizer looks great, but no hopper either. For $1250, sucker should have a case feeder on it.

You connect a Dillon casefeeder to it.
Most people mount a rollsizer on their bench next to the dillon press with the casefeeder in such a location that you can rotate the casefeeder a bit to connect to the rollsizer instead of the reloading press.
That way, you can share one casefeeder between two machines.

You could do the same method with the decapper, but really, just setup a separate toolhead for the 750 and do it that way.
You might as well make the decapping toolhead a full case processing toolhead including a lube/decap die, a sizing die or a dillon trimmer and a neck expand die.
That way, you get decapped, sized, trimmed and neck expanded cases off the end of the first pass that go into a tumbler to get rid of the lube.
Then you run them through the other toolhead to clear the flash hole, prime, charge, seat and crimp.

i was initally going to use the 750 for just processing and was planning to do all the steps on that toolhead, but i think there isn't enough space on it. it's only 5 stations.
1 - case sizing and depriming.........how do you do both at the same time?
                  2 - primer station ..........can't use
3- powder drop and case belling
                  4- bullet seating
                  5- bullet crimping

                  so for processing 223
                  1 - depriming
                  2 - nothing
                  3- swaging
                  4- trimming. Lyman trim die
                  5 neck expansion

so, additionally, do i need to swage if i'm not trying to process a 5.56 down to a 223?
am i missing a step or have unnecessary things going on here?
don't i need to use a holddown die somewhere or no?

                  for 9mm
                  1 - depriming
                  2 - nothing
                  3 - sizing
                  4 - expander
                  5 - case flare die

i have the lyman pro pack die set as well a a dillion universale decapper. i just looked at the website....it has a decapping die and a sizing die but not the combo.

i seem to be out of room for pricessing 223 on the xl750. i was thinking of selling it and getting the CP2000 because of the extra space and i don't have to deal with the built in priming station.

but again, regarding the depriming......ive read several articles and watched a few videos (including the Ultimate Reloader guy) who indicate that you should handle depriming off press b/c is mucks up you dies and residue ends up propigating to other dies down the process.

that is awesome. i don't know if i would be able to figure out how to make that, even with a parts list. there had to be come modifications to the mount and the linkage, and the base where it kickes the brass out. not sure that is in my skill set. but it is very cool

There's no reason to prime off press, and it adds an unreasonable amount of completely unnecessary time and added steps.

Straight off the range floor, into the dry tumbler. Sift media and bulk spray lube. Let dry and fill the press and let it rip, start to finish. You'll end up with premium quality 223 that's easily 1moa with any okish fmj.

Dillons are specifically made to prime on press, and they do it very well.

A standard sizing die both decaps and sizes.
                          You don't need 2 stations.

On a 650/750, you put a primer in and then drop powder in the same station.
The primer gets installed at the end of the "push" and the powder gets dropped near the end of the "pull".
The shellplate indexes while returning the press handle after the "pull" and before the "push".

On a 1050 where you have more stations, there's nothing happening on the push other than indexing.
The 1050 swages and primes on the "pull".

You can only swage on a press that is specifically built to swage.
An example is a Dillon 1050.
It has a swage backup rod that supports the case from inside the case so that the swaging operation does not rip the rim off the case which is in the shellplate.

very interesting about the dynamics and differences of the 750 vs 1050. does that mean .......possibly, that the 750 is better or more versitile since it utilizes both the "push" and the "pull"?

regarding neck expansion. is this for just pistol or is it recommended for rifle as well?
