Like many things including reloading, when someone says something like sure it works or go ahead, works for me remember that is them and not you and when something goes wrong it also you and not them.
Whenever you change anything, powder, cases, projectiles, the gun the ammo is fired in and including primers, test it out yourself. A safe load using one set of components can be unsafe changing one part of the component stack.
The differences can be anything from nothing you can tell to something you wish you hadn't experienced.
That said, experimentation is part of reloading and the risks go hand in hand with that.
To the question, how much difference? It doesn't matter what anyone says. Can if be safe to interchange? Yes. Is it safe for you? It can be if you follow best reloading practices, know when load is reasonably considered safe and when something is telling you stop doing what you are doing.
