To be fair - the "specs" are for fully built, shootable ammo. Not to also account for home reloaders. "Mil-spec" does not include the ability to reload, since the military doesn't bother. Just wait if the new SIG .277 Fury becomes adopted. Those cases have a steel base, who knows if they'll be reloadable at all. The other submissions are caseless or polymer cased ammo, so definitely not reloadable.

Steel base/polymer, I'm not worried about new calibers that I won't invest in.

If I had a really long .070 drill bit that I could press absolutely perpendicular to the base I would be done already, taking note that sealed IK 7.62 nato brass is unreloadable for me.

A lot of the Lapua brass has small flash holes (sub- .060"; maybe .058"?) By design. I guess their research showed that the smaller flash hole promoted more consistent powder ignition.

That's the first small flash hole I've seen on something other than match cases though.

You could try the Lee 30 cal decapping set for $7.
It's also good for fixing bent case mouths.

I have found a similar small flash hole in some 367 Sig brass from Speer. I use a Lee depriming tool set deep enough to just knock out the primer, then it goes into a bowl with the other Speer brass. When it's full I take it out to the garage & set up the drill press to drill them all out and back into rotation they go.
