Plated Winchester cases stick in the resizing die

Is there something strange about these? I know there not steel but the plating seems strange.

Doh pay no attention to the speer on the right.

Possible but I didn't think Winchester made aluminum cases.

        Were the cases wet tumbled?
Are they sticking in a carbide sizing die?
        Did you lube the cases?

They look terrible in the picture but I can't tell if it's just a terrible picture or what's going on.

          Hmmm...these?
Maybe they are not reloadable for some reason?

Thats what they look like. I'll try tumbling them and if they look the slightest bit off its in the trash.

                From thread below

Sounds like they need or like a long cleaning session to remove the purple

                -----
just wet tumbled some of it in a small batch. No lemishine, car wash soap only, no steel media on 2 hour tumble. Came out clean without the purple color. Going to chalk it up as expensive lesson.

That purple stuff I've seen was packaged as "Winchester Training Ammo". I remember purple 223 and 9mm (there may have been some 40 as well.)

The purple stuff was just a colored wash, not permanent, presumably to mark it such that law enforcement knew it was not "duty ammo". The purple essentially wiped off (a day in a jacket pocket took it all off), leaving a standard brass case.

I'd guess the sticking problem is being caused by the dye or paint or whatever you want to call it. Tumbling will probably remove it, and the brass, as far as I remember, was otherwise the same as everything else.
