just wet tumbled some of it in a small batch. No lemishine, car wash soap only, no steel media on 2 hour tumble. Came out clean without the purple color. Going to chalk it up as expensive lesson.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

That purple stuff I've seen was packaged as "Winchester Training Ammo". I remember purple 223 and 9mm (there may have been some 40 as well.)
The purple stuff was just a colored wash, not permanent, presumably to mark it such that law enforcement knew it was not "duty ammo". The purple essentially wiped off (a day in a jacket pocket took it all off), leaving a standard brass case.
I'd guess the sticking problem is being caused by the dye or paint or whatever you want to call it. Tumbling will probably remove it, and the brass, as far as I remember, was otherwise the same as everything else.Comment
