Two points of observation for the OP based on my 5 yrs working with a vibrating tumbler:
1. You get better "swirling" action with NO lid bolted to the drum. But lead laden dust ejection dictates other mitigating measures are needed!
2. With the lid in place, you get more efficient "motion" for media and brass if one end of your vibrator is elevated by 1/4"-3/8" above the other.
