The guy who did the deal for the HP 38 is a fellow Cal Gunner who made the deal with me right here on Cal Guns so calling him an idiot is pretty F'd up. There are those of us who still have scruples and don't gouge. I've bartered with many people for reasonable trades. Funny---I asked a simple question about a new caliber and got more smart *** replies. 7.62---thanks for the tip on the primers---I did not know this information. As for finding them---everything can be found eventually. Not trying to load today--just gathering data and what I need. Running out of things to load so am putting this one on the list. Might taker a minute to find what I need but everything is out there. I buy stuff that I don't need so I have things to trade. I'll find the primers. ThanksComment

Easy now big fella! I made that made the deal with you on the HP-38 and met you at the Roseville gun show!
I was just trying to be a wise-***, hence the smiley-face. I guess it didn’t come across quite right!
Sorry ‘bout that, ... but thanks for sticking up for me!
Cheers,

Damnit---I didn't catch that! I appreciated that. felt a bit ganged up on this one. Have had great help from people on here on may issues. Guess I came across as a newbie so the clowns came out.Comment

7.62 Russian is so cheap and my Yugoslavian SKS will chew up the brass.
So I pass on reloading this caliber.

I own 2 SKS's, 3 Ak's and a Colt 7.62X39 R6830. I reload for the Colt since the brass can be recovered better than the Com Bloc guns which beat the brass and the brass being launched farther away. I get under 2MOA with the reloads for the Colt.
I only use factory ammo for the Com Bloc guns. If I didn't own the Colt, I wouldn't reload. Not worth it.Comment

some say- cast your own and powdercoat - this way you get projectiles that fit the AK BoreRule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I reload .357mag,.38,9mm,.223,.300black out,.308,.44mag,45acp,30-06,.270win,45-70, and probably a few more. I have the dies for 7.62x39, but dont reload that because the bullets are difficult to find and the brass isnt common. So I havent invested much in that caliber. I do have a Chinese SKS (CGA GLNIC?) and a Chinese Poly Technologies AK-47S under folder. They just eat factory, so dont get fired much.
I would only reload for it if I really wanted to cast those bullets and I sourced a bunch of brass. Thats one of those calibers thats hard to save on reloading (for me, anyways).Comment
