Good BOOK for a Beginner loading HANDGUN?

I'd also vote for ABC's of Reloading since you plan to load both rifle and pistol.

Most reloading manuals have an instructional section on loading that is generally worth reading as well. Hornady, Speer, Berger, Sierra, and a bunch of others put these out. Good idea to have several of them.

The key is to read them. Not browse, but read.

Speer. Lyman, ABC's, all good manuals.

I way trust the manuals more than most Youtube's. Unless, it is Lee, RCBS, Hornady etc videos.

People need to actually READ the manual. When I first started loading, I read through the Lee manual and some concepts requires you to read it a few times before it makes sense.

A clarification, I was referring to the book "Modern Reloading" by Lee which is mostly recipes for various loads and is organized strangely.

The Lee book "ABC's of Reloading" has a lot of explanation of the process and using the loading tools.

I learned using "Modern Reloading" and in loading classes, hence my statement that a loading clinic was required. I am not sure if ABC's can replace that...

Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to setup my first progressive - Lee Load Master.
Can anyone suggest a solid book and reference for loading 9mm/45acp?

I have some Titlegroup and BE-86 powder, and plan on using SPP and trying SRP.

The books I use are Lee's "Modern Reloading, Second Edition" and "Lyman's Reloading Manual, 49th Edition". Both companies have come out with updated versions since I've gotten mine, and both books are good stuff.

Titegroup is one of my two "go-to" powders for non-magnum handgun applications. It's my primary powder for both .45 ACP and 9mm, with Bullseye as my secondary powder for these two cartridges. For .38 Special, Bullseye is primary and Titegroup is secondary. Haven't yet tried BE-86, so I cannot speak to that powder.

SRP will work in a pinch, if you must do so. Just back your loads down, as if you were using SPPM's.

Also, since you have a Loadmaster, I would STRONGLY recommend this Web site for how to set one up.
