    ol' shooter gave you most of the explanation. there's a construction difference between a plated bullet and a jacketed bullet.

    your bullet was cast to form and then chemically/electrically COATED with copper.

    the true JHP's you have were formed by swaging a cup of jacket material around a cylindrical core.

    the two types use different load data. use data for cast bullets with the plated hollowpoint.

      Is there a pin in the center of the hollow point or just an open tip?

            Plated bullets typically use lead data, not jacketed date.
            That being a plated bullet with the hollowpoint pressed into the bullet after plating, you would treat it as a lead bullet of the same shape for load selection purposes.

              Last I heard, Rainier (bullet company) has closed their doors. I liked their bullets for the 500 S&W.
