Please identify this 9X19 Luger ammunition

Found an old box of 9mm Luger ammunition and I don't know what it is. It has a steel case and a projectile that is attracted to a magnet. Can anyone identify it? It is on stripper clips. Any help is much appreciated.

    Magnetic?

Thank you. Do you know where I could find any ballistic or other technical information about it? Is it corrosive?

If it's Com-bloc, and was made before the 1980's, it's almost certainly corrosive!

                It's probably berdan primed too

                  Kokopelli,

I like to joke around with many posts. But this one is for real.

It appears as if you have identified the ammo caliber. With the decent photos you took combined with some good
opinions that you received here on Calguns, have you considered writing up your own technical information on
                  your 9mm discovery?

If you put a call out for someone with a chronograph, a digital scale, calipers, micro camera lens and a bullet
datum measuring equipment you might be presently surprised at the assistance you may receive.

And then you too will be part of a small bit of current technical information.

I don't know anyone with a chrono. Sometimes I see one at the range. But the range does not allow ammo with steel projectiles. I do have a powder scale and a calibrated digital caliper so dissecting a round is possible.

That is great information! Thank you! .41 grams is 6.327 grains of powder. Perhaps a burn rate along the lines of Blue Dot or AA#7.

I did find a couple of articles about the Czech sub machine gun. They mentioned a muzzle velocity of 1,440 fps and another saying 1,500 fps. So, it could indicate a light weight bullet at standard pressures. Here's some ammo tests done with a Ruger carbine...

The 5 shot average of the Winchester WB 115 FMJ grain was: 1460 fps
The 5 shot average of the Winchester Ranger 124 grain NATO was:1350 fps
The 5 shot average of the Winchester T-Series 127 grain +P+ was:1400 fps

it is berdan primed and pretty hot ammo, broke the firing pin on my Luger with that ammo, but I also shot thousands of rounds back the late 70's. That stuff was almost free back then because no one wanted berdan primed ammo. Never noticed if its corrosive but then I clean my guns after every range trip.
