The .22 CB Cap (Conical Breech Cap) is a more powerful version of the .22 BB cap (aka: 6mm Flobert) rimfire metallic cartridge, which was invented by Louis-Nicolas Flobert in 1845. The .22 BB Cap and .22 CB Cap are interchangeable and are relatively quiet, low velocity cartridges, designed for indoor target shooting.

IIRC, the BB cap is powered only by the priming compound and has a round ball as projectile, the CB Cap is a conical bullet and has a bit of powder in it.

I use CB caps around the farm all the time for pests.

I'm in a older heavily treed subdivision. Anything but the CB's are to loud. Fortunately a lot of retired people around me don't like the squirrels either as they are destructive

Never heard of non lead cb caps. Better to get a pellet gun. Make certain they are ground squirrels.

That is correct. When my parents once left me alone at home for a week while they were on a trip, I called my friend over and after ducking the jc penny catalog closed, we dumped about 300+ CBs down the hallway into it inside the house with my Remington 581S. It was what led me to play with make shift suppressors and start modifying them to be used around the house with CB loads.

Good stuff.

CCI makes a 22 CB short. Walmarts out here in Zona carry them but out there who knows. Turners should have them also. I use them to keep the feral cat population down around my house. Through my Henry lever action rifle they're super quiet.
