Better deburring tool?

A conical carbide single cut burr works really well and lasts forever on brass.

28-degree included angle cone is just about perfect for most match bullet boat tails.

Don't know what condition your tool was in, but mine works fine. I've used it for many years. Brass is very soft and the steel tool has held up just fine.

Go to a hardware store and get a deburring tool meant for very small pipe.
Most reloaders over do it when it comes to deburring the outside of there casenecks you only want the burr gone you don't need to make it a funnel shape and I am just as guilty as everyone else on doing it.

Generally correct for rifle cases. Yet their are specific instances when it is necessary to actually create a "funnel shape" with a chamfer tool.

Rifle dies don't include a mouth expander like 3 set pistol dies do. If loading cast boolits in rifles. It is often advantageous to give a taper to the case mouth so you don't shave lead when seating.

a slight chamfer on the inside also really helps when loading pure copper bullets such as Barnes and Swift. I do not have the shaving of the bullet like I did with a square cut case mouth.

RCBS and other reloading suppliers even make specific tools to facilitate creating a DEEPER "funnel shape".
