    Better deburring tool?

I have this deburring tool that chuck in my hand drill and use to deburr. I've noticed that it sucks. It rolls the moth of the case instead of actually shaving/deburring the brass. I think its dull. I tossed it.

Anyone have a better deburring tool? One that can maybe get put in a drill?

I am very happy with my Lyman Case Prep Center and it is not expensive. I use it mostly for de-burring and chamfering case mouths but sometimes for primer pocket cleaning or uniforming.

Not easy to teach speed and feed, there are some that want to fire up a saw mill and start cutting.

I have the RCBS case prep center; when going through 500 cases it is easy to pick up one case and then going through 5 case functions.

Go to a hardware store and get a deburring tool meant for very small pipe.
Most reloaders over do it when it comes to deburring the outside of there casenecks you only want the burr gone you don't need to make it a funnel shape and I am just as guilty as everyone else on doing it.

How fast were you spinning it with the drill?.
When I use a drill. I ziptie the trigger so that it's not spinning so fast.
I found if I spun it too fast. It just rounded the case.

I now use the Hornady case prep trio. This one just plugs in for power.

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Saw some use a 3/8” or 1/2” nut driver socket, stuff with 00 steel wool and spin on brass. I may try that.

If the burr is from trimming the brass a chamfer tool works best.
If your just breaking the edge and don't have alot of burr you can use a 3M Scotch Brite pad dipped in rubbing alcohol spun in a Lee caseholder

Generally correct for rifle cases. Yet their are specific instances when it is necessary to actually create a "funnel shape" with a chamfer tool.

Rifle dies don't include a mouth expander like 3 set pistol dies do. If loading cast boolits in rifles. It is often advantageous to give a taper to the case mouth so you don't shave lead when seating.

for the longest time i was using the lee stuff and when the case was spinning i would just use a file for the outside debur

i got the lyman debur tool and it fits in the possum hollow power adapter so far so good

they do get dull but dont throw it away its still probably good for another caliber like my lee debur tool its dead to me for 223 but still works on 308

a slight chamfer on the inside also really helps when loading pure copper bullets such as Barnes and Swift. I do not have the shaving of the bullet like I did with a square cut case mouth.

I have the deburring heads for the Hornady station thing (I don't have the station); I chuck them in a cordless handheld drill (mine has a 1/2" chuck) and just tap the cases to the tool. Not precise by any means, but gets the job done.

I use a Hornady hand chamfer tool, but it has been discontinued. This Lee case prep tool shown below might be a good option. I don't think I would use a power tool to deburr.
