Dillon Owners - Locator Pin Tab Testing

Got the tabs. They are a bit thinner than other ones I’ve seen.

I like the idea of bright colors.
I suggest 4 different colors, one for each pin size.
Makes it easier to spot.

If only I could get my customers to mail checks as fast as you sent these tabs.... if only!!!

you obviously have a high quality printer because these have a much nicer finish than about 99% of the printed items I have bought online

I have a handful of colors I can print with. If these hold up well and folks need some I can pump some out. I switched gears and printed ammo boxes for 308 and Lee tool head stands lol

I'm enjoying printing random stuff. I made some plastic snap caps for my 45-70 too.

I just received my samples today. A day later than the others as I am in NorCal. Very nicely made. Because I'm a little older than most on here my fingers don't want to work as good as they used to. I would suggest making the grip tabs a little wider. I don't think that durability wise there is a problem but a little thicker also might be a direction to consider. Lastly, as others have suggested, if you decide to start making quantities, bright colors might be desirable.

That's interesting. Do you guys throw your tabs back in the conversion kit boxes or store them someplace else? I always keep the kits in the boxes so I never thought of labeling them.

I noticed on my 550 the tab in the last station is on the ejection ramp and might get in the way. I have to try it out to see. On my 650 they seem to be out of the way.

I'll play with making them wider and see how much it blocks the 550.

I always keep the kits in the boxes so I never thought of labeling them.

I keep all the ones for my 1050 kits in the conversion kit boxes.
The tabs should have a tight fit to the button so they do not slide off easily.

They do get in the way.
That's probably why Dillon never included them with 550 conversions.

I could see the caliber size on the tab. I dont know how many times i used the wrong pins and couldnt understand why the press was binding.

I made the ring and stem thicker, but I don't think I can make them wider. I tried with one and it snapped, so I looked closer at station 3 on a 650 and its is against the frame. I will try to put the caliber on the top and see if it prints clean.
