My lee dispensers suddenly started leaking.

Both of them! I have an autodisk, and a perfect powder. The autodisk is maybe 5 years old, but the PP is probably 10.

The PP always seeped a tiny bit, but now its pretty significant and makes a decent mess of powder. I tried the youtube fixes of burnishing the insides and polishing. It helped, but its still leaky.

I cleaned the autodisk and made sure everything looked right. It does. It just leaks now. I bet I could sand down the mating surfaces to reduce clearance, but it seems odd that it would loosen up.

Are these old models that have been updated to fix this issue? I see theres a deluxe perfect powder now. These items are so cheap that I don't really mind just replacing them, but I don't want to buy new ones if the new ones are worse or do the same thing.

They have both worked so accurately that I'm reluctant to change brands, but the leaking is annoying.

So change to deluxe PP, and maybe autodrum instead of autodisk? Buy the same but new? Change brands because they all leak?

My autodisk with adjustable charge bar (ACB) work W-A-Y better since being drenched with One Shot. I did some fine sanding of the bottom of the hopper to close the gap over the ACB. You mentioned doing that and might try it. Ultimately though I favor using the cylindrical powder hopper with the silicone wiper. The best though is the autodrum, and the latest shipment of drums has a granular surface, I guess to prevent leakage or binding. Works fine.

What kind of Reloader accepts a leaky powder thrower?

The better question is what volumetric powder measure never leaks? I think that has humbled the best of them, when using the finer powders.

My autodrum used to leak a little when it was new but its been solid since... I figured the wipe was a wear item but I'm past "a few thousand" and mine still doesn't leak...

On the other hand I did also just get a Lee PPM as well and I'm not sure if it leaks from the drum or if the powder splashes out from the when the powder drops into the powder pan/funnel thingy.

With a leaky powder thrower how can anyone be certain of how much powder went
into the case and how much powder was swept off the workbench?

Don't be a bully. We check weight samples and keep an eye on things. When shooting goes well, we know we did a good job.

If a 3rd party is reading this and they agree that a leaky powder thrower is acceptable then go for it.

As for the Reloaders who had to sacrifice some hard earned dollars for non leakly no excuse powder
thrower, I sincerely hope they feel no need to apologize for buying good reloading equipment.

Send it back to LEE and see if they will replace it for free or a discount.

If family or friends came over and saw your operation and you had powder leaking from the
thrower, how do you explain that? Really.

Everyone sees the news reporting another fireworks plant going up in flames. Do you know
who accepts QC specs for leaky gun powder throwers? How could anyone have known?

Every PP measure I've used throws pretty accurate around +/- .2 at worst. This is why I prefer to go no more then 80% of a max load rating.

H110, Accurate #2, 'lil gun, and a lot of the fine stuff always bleeds like crazy. I just keep a catch pan under the measure and toss it back in later on.

I dont care what my friends and family think about my reloading operation. What a strange statement to make. The powder gets swept up and thrown into the yard. Im probably losing 10 grains over hundreds of rounds.

Anyway. I got the new silicone wiper for the auto disk. I fully disassembled the PP and scrubbed it clean. Turns out there was an oddball grain stuck behind the wiper causing a small gap which leaked. It no longer does, so thats cool. The silicone wiper fixed the AD.
