My favorite is the result of getting a 357 mixed in with 38spl and running it into the flare station.

Ha! I've done that. Most of our shooting is either .38 Spl or .357M.

OP, there are two kinds of reloaders:

1.) those who've made "stupid" mistakes, and
2.) those who will. :-)

I'm definitely a member of the first group.

I thought that too, then realized that he meant that he sorts his brass into containers (probably tupperware) so each container had batches of brass in various states of preparation. He saw a container full of brass and thought it was ready for depriming, then later noticed that it actually contained already reprimed brass.


At first I thought he wasn't a native English speaker and meant "brass case" when he said "container" as well. Then I figured out what he meant.

Once I open a beer...

No reloading

No working with sharp tools (table saw, router, etc.)

And most importantly, no flying.

If you're distracted for any reason, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!! Doing any of the above while even very slightly impaired is asking for trouble.

The trick is to do it between handle pulls, not in the moment of the act of reloading.

come back, pick up die out of box.

We've all made similar mistakes OP. Good on you for having having the courage and being willing to share your mistakes.

You've been a member long enough. You hadda' know, two thirds of the replies were gonna' be mockery/abusive. You posted it anyway. That takes a reasonably non-fragile ego. Thanks for the amusing story.

As said above, you figured it out after 25 cases, not 250. No real harm done.

At least he didn't blow up a beautiful rifle that was a 2 year project on his third round through it like the guy writing this did 30 years ago when I first started reloading.
I still miss that gun, it was beautiful.
Have not repeated the errors that led to it which the reloading manuals warned against.
