Does it count as reloading if it's paper cartridge? Put together a few more rounds to try in the 1861 Springfield. 585 Minie ball, 520gr with 60gr FF powder.

I found template dimensions and dowel diameter for cutting, rolling, and tying the paper tubes. I wasn't able to find what weight of paper to use. I have a big stack of printer paper from the old tractor feed printers. Trying it but is seems a bit thick.

So far have only shot the rifle with round ball. Looking forward to trying a true era correct cartridge.

nothing. I went shooting to check zero on several rifles, sight in a new one and do some load testing over my Chrono.

Curious. The guys that loaded for rifles; are these non lead? Or just loading for plinking purposes?

My paper cartridges are 520gr lead Minie ball, for plinking. It was the standard load for the 1861 Springfield.
