They drop at .312 so I will powder coat them and leave them plain based and shoot those in my mosin. Those are good looking bullets. I had great luck my first time casting and powder coating, and now that is the majority of what I shoot.
I still load jacketed, but at a 1:50 ratio.
Things that have improved my casting results are:
PID for lead pot
Hotplate to pre heat molds and ingots
Pyrometer to check mold temp
Buying molds from MP
Using good powder coat powder (smokes, Eastwood, powder by the pound)
