Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX Chronograph w/bluetooth

I just bought one of these. Man this thing works great.

It even announces the FPS out loud. Anybody in Orange County need anything chrono'd? I'm a member at Raahauge's, so pay for your range time, and bring your ammo.

$125 from optics planet. My last chrono was 30 plus years ago. It was a TNT, timer n tach. Anybody remember those?

How can you tell the velocities are accurate?

I have no reason to think they're not, do you?

Ok. That's a cool feature... that you can synchronize multiple phones.

For someone like me who's a reloader and hunts but isn't a serious competitive shooter, it's good enough.

For most shooters, accuracy in reading doesn't matter all that much. Consistency in reading shot to shot is what matters.

Maybe if you're trying to make a power factor for pistol competition, OK, but you would likely add in a fudge factor for inconsistent loads anyway, wouldn't you?

This. If you shoot competitions that require power factor, you give yourself a buffer from the minimum just in case. That's if you're smart. You have some that chase that bunny fart load and then are surprised when they don't make PF at a match due to chrono inconsistency or temperature or whatever.

Optical chronys are inconsistent. They read differently depending where the light source is.
