Reloading 9mm Blazer brass

Blazer brass is thin. I have no problem when loading plated bullets, but they had no neck tension when I tried to load pulled 147gn FMJ. Switched to Federal brass and the FMJ holds tight. I reserve the Blazer brass for lead and plated bullets now.

I load mostly jacketed. Lead is too dirty and smoky.

Are there any brands with good brass that sells for cheap, like $160 to $180 per thousand?

You can get a Lee undersize sizing die to size the brass smaller if you have neck tension issues. Try it with your bullets first, they may work fine.

9mm crimped pockets were always the issue for me, not a problem with the Blazer Brass I have tried...

I have three carbide die sets for reloading 45 ACP
I use the tightest (smallest) diameter dies for resizing which happen to be Hornady sizing die.
I also use the Lee Factory Crimp die on my 9 MM and 45 ACP brass cases. So I have not noticed any neck tension issues with Winchester 230 FMJ or Berry's or X-treme plated 45 ACP loads and 45 ACP brass.
My CCW ammo is a 185 grain Hollow Point and load a lot of plated flat point 185 gran bullets without problems in any of my brass, including Blazer Brass. I would say most of my Blazer brass is the cupped head design.
