    Hmmm, I thought Varget DIDN'T meter well???? I must be mis-informed.

      I use Ramshot TAC for .223

      For precision .308 loads I use Varget

        depends on what you are using.

        Varget is stick powder, it doesnt meter well because you probably will get inconsistent throws. While ball/pancake powders doesnt meter well is that its so small it can get in the cracks of the powder throw device and causes rough throws, like grinding.

          i found out that you can make a key gunpowder component by urinating on straw and letting it sit for a few months before leaching out the active ingredient. I believe this will be faster and cheaper
          It's much faster and cheaper if you go on Ebay and buy potassium nitrate by the lb (for that matter, the charcoal and sulfur, too.)

                From my persona experience, 748 runs dirty but meters well! Varget is the exact opposite! I also used BLC-2 for .223, and its pretty similar to 748.

                  i dunno about you guys, i just got 8 1 #'s of varget from cabelas... they say currently 1-2 week back order for 1lbs, 4-5 week for 8#'s
