7.62X54R surplus drying up?

In your guys educated opinions, how long until the surplus 7.62X54r ammo starts to dry up? I'm gonna keep on buying it until it's not sold anymore, or prices go way up.. I guess you probably can't answer the question unless you have some kind of inside scoop on this topic, but I figured I'd ask anyways. I'm just curious.

I wonder how much of the surplus ammo there is.. I guess they made a crap load extra

Enough to feed all the riffles that chamber it. I only have 450 rds but dont shoot my mosin much. I keep it as a emergency shtf stash.

Think about the fact that the Russians / Soviets made 37 MILLION Mosin Nagants shooting 7.62 x 54R. Then think about how many survived WW2 (a good fraction) to be refurbished and put in storage, then think about how much ammo they had to store to feed all those rifles. Then keep in mind that 7.62x54R is still in heavy use in militaries today!

I don't think you'll have to worry about milsurp 7.62x54R running low anytime soon.

Weapons in 7.62x54R are still being produced. It is the longest continuously serving rifle cartridge ever (since 1891).

I disagree, you use to be able to say that for 8mm, now look at it! 7.62x54R is steadily going up, the 147 grn light ball more so, as it feeds the PSL and Dragunov, both plinking and the 7N1 sniper ammo (which has dried up already and going for $1 per round! That is if you can find it)... the 180 grn is still very plentiflul and reasonable

Hard time finding 762X54R? It's all over, has to be one of the most available rifle calibers available for the time being. Cheap too

Lucky you. I've found it in one place and that shop over charges for everything. They apparently know they are the only ones in the area that carry it. They guys at wally world stare at you like a moron when you ask if they can get it. Most of the time when I ask somewhere for it I get "uh, yeah we don't carry it."
