    Weird casings at the range.

Several days ago, I was shooting next to this fellow with his saiga 7.62x39 and it was flinging brass (or steel) towards my bench. One landed next to me and I looked at it. it looks like it has a 2nd neck. Whats up with this?

That's all I can think of. It appears to me there was some problem with the reamer.

Thats the rare "double neck saiga". Only 5 were produced by the hands of Kalashnikov.

haha.. maybe the guy was a calgunner, I would love an update? I brought my unpainted MMG ak and mosin Nagant if you remember me at cordova shooting range about a month ago(not several days ago like first post.).

he brought a saiga and wetherby rifle in 30-06, sitting on a coldwell leadslead.

I found this one in my pile of brass today. It was PMC .223 Remington. Or maybe a super secret experimental round that was never meant to be found...

The Saigas are cut with a stepped neck to differentiate them vs the military 7.62x39 rifles ... or at least that's what the literature says... its come up before

Though I am almost positive its come up here before
According to this CDC document the firearms related death rate has been surpassed by the poisoning death rate.

I am guessing a round that went off before it was fully chambered.

I doubt that. If that was the case, I'd expect to see case-head separation.
