    6.5 Creed Question

Going to start reloading 6.5 Creed for precision soon as I have an RPR coming in soon. Have all tools to do it right.

Have 250 new Hornady 6.5 Creed cases.
    Have 140gr Hornady ELD-M Projectiles.

I use CCI Primers for all rounds I reload and assume CCI will be fine for this as well.

Now powder. I am sure which ever I choose will get the job done but between H4350 and Win760 which would be best for longer range, figure 800 to 1400 yds.

H4350 is the standard for 6.5 Creedmoor. Just keep in mind that every rifle barrel is different even from the same manufacture so your rifle may like other powders as well or all together.

    Good luck.

Ya seems H4350 is standard. Some are using R17 (Dirtier) Or Varget. Going Angeles Reloading tomorrow to pick up the powder and want an idea what to get if 4350 not in stock.

Like everyone stated H4350 is pretty standard. If you're able to find RL16, it's suppose to be close to H4350. Looks like some are getting higher fps with RL16. Work your load up safely!

AA4350 and H4831 should work also. I'm loading H4831 with the 147 eldm. It takes a few more grains to equal the velocity of the 4350 burn range, but shoots great.

I used H100v with decent results, but stopped load developing with it because I scored 16 lbs of H4350. Good luck.
I have done so much with so little for so long that now I can do almost anything with nothing at all.

Picked up 1lb of h4350. Spent yesterday weighing the bullets and have a good amount of .1 above and over to make some barrel break in ammo. Going to grab some factory Hornady 140s for the scope zero.

You realize match bullets, even the highly regarded Berger bullets are only sorted to within .3gr with Sierra's being the gold standard at an advertised +/-.3gr while in actuality their SMK's fall in closer to +/-.1. There is no need to sort to that degree. You'll never see it on paper.

Looks like I should have bought some AICS mags or the like. My length to lands is 2.245 comparator measurement. Was able to size to 2.215 and fits the magpul. Will see how it stacks up next week. Factory Hornady 140gr ELDs measure 2.197 so to me there is some room but need to have full capability of the chamber, duh.

Noob mistake and made 25 at 2.15...not sure I should shoot those.

Ladder loads starting at 40.3 to 41.5 at .3 incriments. Reading a ton and seems 140 ELDs on H4350 sweet spot is 41.5 but around .02 off lands. Cases didn't even utilize full sizing die it seems and just needed to uniform the mouth. Trimmed them to the same size, which only needed a hair trimmed to make the case mouth square.

Can't wait to take it out and go through the process.

+1 there are a ton of other things most guys can improve in their reloading practices that will make more difference then sorting bullets by weight and cases by volume.

Brass prep, constant seating pressure, constant primmer seating depth, brass cleaning, all will effect how a bullets shoots more then then weight difference of +/- .03 grains.

                            Not .03, .3

Above is from my initial trip to the range to sight in the RPR and get a feel for the new rifle. I tried using CCI and Federal LRP and started conservatively on the powder loads. Good results overall but did not know the velocity or SD but judging by how my tests went today those conservative loads were probably from 2600 to 2750. My logic is if I want to reach distance I need to speed them up which is why my ladder test today I went to the higher end. Please stop me if this is the wrong idea when it comes to 1k+ I am perfectly fine keeping it less than 1k as it will be semi rare I get to shoot that distance. Some promising loads in that first initial string.

I went back today to use the Chrono to see what Pet Loads I can narrow it down to. The way the rifle side at Angeles is sloped I was worried I would hit the chrono so set it up off center and made sure to bore sight the set up so I didn't destroy it, shot small sample size of 5 shots and shot 3 more at targets for accuracy and saved 2 more for each pet load to try for the 600yd (Hit 90% with the 20 rounds, great feeling but 600 yds is just getting started). Used each average to change elevation (For most it did not matter). There was a light wind today and did not attempt to adjust for it as it felt as if it was at by back.

Because I thought I could get away with it, I have not invested in some AICS mags. These rounds are a good .07 off the lands because of the MagPul mags. But want to show what I could do with what I have at the moment. Also I am not as disciplined as I should be for shooting yet, proper breathing and muscle memory. PICTURE BELOW COINCIDES WITH TABLES
