need help for second attemp in reloading

I have a .45 1911 that I set up to run 200gr semiwadcutters over 4.1 gr of Bullseye. I used the lightest spring I could find 13 # if memory serves. It's my girly gun. Great to introduce women and beginers. The slide is very easy to rack with the light spring and the recoil is less than full house .45.

I never really load 45acp at less than 5.8 grains of Unique, even with 230 grain plated. 6.0 or 6.1 Grains of unique generally make 230 grain ball shoot like factory/military spec at 830 fps, depending.

I think this pound of Unique I have will also be my last. My reloading book (Lyman) read that 6.5 grains was the max load for that round 200gr. The highest I loaded was 5.5 grains. I think I will load some to 6 and 6.5 grains and see if it works. Then I will buy Win WST and Red Dot like you guys recomended and see if it works for me.

WST is only good for light loads and match grade 45 as it burns too fast for +p usage. It is a nice powder though. W231 always work well to. My biggest complaint with unique is that it is large flake and meters a little rough from my powder measure, but I don't think it burns too dirty, 231 is nasty as well.

also, 6.5 grains of Unique will be a little stiff...even with 200 grain. 6.1 or 6.2 will be kind of hot.
