    Wait at Ammo Stores

I was driving by a local licensed retailer and noticed this huge line of people waiting to be helped or purchase ammunition. I'm talking at least 10 people in line waiting lol. The look of agitation on some of their faces was priceless and has me grateful for stockpiling as much ammo as I could last year lol. I can't help but laugh a little for the poor souls that have to make that weekly trip lol.

Lol how long have some of you waited to buy ammo at stores now that new regulations have taken effect? I'm assuming the duration of a trip hasn't changed that much.

I was at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Redding California just yesterday. Breezed right in, pointed to what I wanted, paid for it, and left.

Business as usual, as far as I can tell.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

It's sad that "enthusiasts" waited so long. I told my coworker about it and she keeps a gun for home defence...even she ordered a couple thousand rounds before the deadline.

I purchased some .22 ammo at Dick's Sporting Goods last week. Nobody in the gun area. Push a button to call for help, & in a few minutes an employee took care of me & I was able to pay there instead of at the main cash register. I was in & out! I got some Thunderbolt & Federal ammo & it came to 6.5 cents/round including tax. I got it cheaper in 2017, but through online & no tax.

I don't see any problems with ammo purchases or availability. I was in my local Walmart yesterday and just momentarily browsed the ammo case and a sales clerk came up to ask what did I want. There was no line of buyers.

It’s business as usual where I live. I haven’t seen any sort of lines for ammo. But I don’t shop at Walmart, so I don’t know what it’s like there.

No line at Wally World this morning.
After dropping kids to school, took my chances at swinging by WM and got some. Female Sales Clerk just asked me how old I was and my birthday. No big deal.

I'm planning to stop at BassPro in Rocklin to kill time and Turners somewhere to see the TC rifles. I don't expect to see lines for ammunition but if I do...

Paying attention to what is going on around you is what everyone should do, not watch Dancing with the Stars, or be able to recognize a pop-icon if one saw them. I think this may have something to do with a gender-wage-gap of their own doing...

Starting the 1st Manteca BP locked all of their ammo behind glass and customers have to wait for help, one at a time, to get ammo. Stores like Dicks and Walmart, who have had their ammo locked up for awhile now, will not suffer the same buying issues.

Walked in to the Shootist; walked out about 3 minutes later with 1K of 9mm. No real difference from 12/31.

Ammo is plentiful everywhere now. .22 on the shelf. No waiting, no drama.

Same with Guns, Fishing, and Other Stuff. They used to have racks full of shot-shell ammo on the floor, and you just picked what you wanted and took it to the register. Now it is all behind the counter and you have to ask for help.

No lines though. I'm pretty well stocked for the next several duck/rabbit seasons, but still buy a box or two when I see a good price. Can't have too much ammo.

Bought some 9mm and 22lr on sale at Big 5 Sunday. Paid cash up front, no questions ask. 🤠

When your stockpile runs out you will be:

Seriously though, the ammo regs in 2018 have been overblown, like Y2K. You just can't buy online, and retailers have to store the ammo differently. Wait times shouldn't go up in 2018 unless the retailer still hasn't figured it out. Prices shouldn't go up dramatically in 2018 unless the stores are trying to gouge us.

The problem is the lack of impact in 2018 is going to desensitize everyone to 2019. That's when the real problems will start, when they'll need to do a background check on everyone who buys; how long is that going to take per customer.

I hope the stores figure out a system before then. E.g. Require and/or discount bulk purchases to reduce cost/impact of the background check.
