I'm glad you were not injured. I has a primer go off on me many years back and it startled the heck out of me. I purchased the same part on eBay and it had given me not a single problem in the 7 years it has been on my 650. I don't recall making any adjustments but If I did it was probably to index the plate and make sure the primers were centered in the shell plate.

Yeah, I dont blame the part. I blame my inexperience with the press. I shoulda waited a few sessions before I started modding it.I'm glad you were not injured. Congrats on your first desk pop.
Jk
Glad your ok. Blowing primers is my biggest worry when I reload. Hope it never happens to me.Comment

I bought the same cam-pin w/bearing.
I measured the old one to determine how deep to seat the roller variant, press to tip.
I then measured the new one, as I screwed it in, and had it match the distance where it actuated with the prior, tip of bearing bottom to press.

I have only set one primer off in the past, and it was because I forced it, and the pocket was crimped... my bad... but this was before getting the bearing upgrade, spent primer shute to water bottle upgrade, unspent primer collector upgrade, and such.Last edited by the86d; 01-12-2018, 4:37 AM.Comment
