Yea, Red, I never met him, so I could be off base on that. I started skipping over his stuff long ago.

As someone who has been a serious student of reloading for a long time, I didn't find him to be some Rosetta Stone of a guy. I didn't find it worthwhile to wade through all the juvenile chest-beating to see if there might be something worthwhile, or something I didn't know in there.

I spent most of my working life in an environment where you didn't make yourself out to be The World's Leading Expert, Who Has Been Everywhere And Done Everything Twice!!! Guys like that hadn't yet learned that they didn't know every freaking thing, and more importantly, they couldn't fathom the possibility that their way might not be the only way.

It probably was unfair to compare him to SantaCruz, who appeared to be a pure butthole and nothing more, but our dear departed Stilly seemed to want to make everything about him, his experience, his standards, his last word. Not necessary, at best, and extremely tiresome for those of us who are not rookies.

I certainly wish him well. He seemed to have a desire to help others, and some ability to do so.
"Self defense is not a fashion show. A defensive handgun is not a little black dress, or a purse."
Remember, the overwhelming majority of anti-gun thinkers are not stupid enough to be "afraid of guns." They are afraid of stupid/immature/crazy psycho people with guns.
And as always, being friendly, courteous, and respectful is the easiest way to bend people to your will.

During my stint in the Marines, friendly ribbing was the order of the day, every day, 365. I jear what your saying but just know it equally applies to about 90% of the armed forces....world wide.

Stilly i dont believe had a military background but he would have done just fine there.
Semper Fi and long live the Hornady red monster!

Sent from my ship of right, while I float by all of you swimming in the sea of wrong.
