Who Reloads 50AE.......Help Please

I'm looking for some advice from a 50AE reloader. Please PM.

Stilly does the AE .
I Use Hodgdon H110 powder , CCI mag primers , FMJ PILLS [ BULLETS ]
I have put don't like nickel cases .
Don't use cast pills and clean gun when you get home .
U-tube has a couple of videos on cleaning .
Go by the reloading manual - not what someone says about powder .
The shell case is rebated - It is the same at base as a 44 mag .
You don't really need a case gauge [ nice to have tho ]
I deprive off press , prime off press , Have a Lee load maser press , but the pills are so heavy - it is easier to hand place them and the cases .
It helps if you can find better grips for the D E .
Don't use cast pills
People will ask at range if they can shoot it - sure if you buy the bullets and Get what you don't shoot and the empty cases .
Some ranges only let you shoot on / in rifle section . Make sure you have good ear plugs / muffs .
Don't think you are John Wayne - you need to hold the pistol with both hands and plan on them aching the next day .
Fill the magazine - that little bit of weight helps .
If you bought then new [ fat chance in Calif ] , it came with a cleaning kit - order one .

I understand why MR doesn't want you shooting soft lead in the DE's (fouls the gas port making the barrel a paperweight), but I cast pure linotype (and I am going to powdercoat). I really question if hardcast coated bullets would be an issue in the DE's...not asking opinion but fact. I've heard of guys who have been shooting hardcast in DE's without issues, but I've never talked to one FTF.

And I'll save you the "OK if you want to F-up your barrel I wouldn't do it blah blah blah" responses. I am aware what DE says about it. But they also say you can't shoot reloads, the whole point of this thread and subforum...

Thanks , that page I don't think I have .
When I doubt mine , factory 350 grains were available - really the only thing in stock at that time .
All I do is punch paper now - bad knees / too many sound shooters / price of gas and the places I hunted were sold .
I did buy some 275 solid copper pills [ traded to a S &W GUY EVEN UP ] they were to long - they now say they won't work in the D E on web site .
As for powder coated , I got some samples and they produced a red cloud and were a ***** to clean out of gas piston - came out of barrel O K , But after 5 shots [ all the samples ] I put another 20-25 FMJ thru it and they may have cleaned the barrel .

I I have a 50ae and a 44 upper as well, in my 44 loads I have worked up a load that performs very well. If you'd like I can forward that load data. As for the 50ae loads my initial loads were underpowered and the action would not cycle so I stepped up to a hotter load and the load seem to be cycling much better I can post that load data as well

Okay, you prolly won't go for that so I tell you what. Put that pure lino away you hunky man you... All you need to do is cast with 4%-6% lino (IF you want to) and PC... (see that? Coming here your price per pill just dropped already and you aint even done anything...)

LoL. You HAVE talked to MR about this have you? Then you might fancy that off the record, they recco AA#9 for reloading their precious bird...

Oh yeah. And thank you MR Rawkstar. Always good to have load data from Speer in .50 AE... Wow. If you can, I suggest that you give some AA#1680 (pink label) a shot. It is only one of the top powders for Oddballs loads like 300 Whisper and .50 AE... Dunno why they left it off that list...

Not sure most frequent this section tho. But I know of 20+ members that do in the rifle section.
