If so, then you need to surrender your fine looking PID and well, where you at again? I think my dad was telling me about someone stealing his screwdriver the other day and oddly it was described as one I see there on the right. Wooden handle, grip cuts notched in the wood at various levels, been his favorite since 1954...
Haha no, I have NOE, MP and accurate molds. That Lee was the only two banger .600 RB mold I could finds so I gave it a shot. And that's a damn handy screwdriver. Great for mold bopping and adjusting flow, your dad was lucky to have it!

Edit: Forgot about the Saeco and Lyman molds....

Okay I feel better now. And Uhh, I confess, my dad was lucky to have that screw driver. He had the entire set. Now he has the entire set minus 1. Of course, that means that I have 1 minus the entire set... I enjoy it too.

Okay so then when you have issues with Lee molds, I have had a total of 3 bad ones, but I was given one that was bad. Right off the bat you can tell it is jacked because of how it casts. As long as you show that you did your steps with the beeswax and the heat/coating it with a match etc etc, you can send it back to them and they will replace it for you.

My real story is that I purchased several and one was machined just off. You could tell because when you held it right and looked down the seam you could see that one side looked like it had shifted a pixel's depth. I had the same thing happen to a mold that someone gave to me. They bought from midway, midway sent them a new one and told them to keep it, so he gave it to me. I sent it to Lee and they sent me a new one. Then to further test, I bought a bad one off of ebay that some guy tried to use, I got it, confirmed that it was bad and contacted Lee again. Next thing you know, I am getting a 6 banger truncated .45 acp for the price of sending the old one back...

Lee is a good company. They might be penny pinching cheap basatards, but they take care of their customers. SOMETIMES it might be a little difficult to get them to, but they are just showing good stewardship with what they have.

Even once my mold is hot it still cools down between pours. Again, the hot plate is brilliant and I feel like a total idiot for not thinking of it.
Soaking warms the mold, you don't dunk the whole thing in just the base, if you're get a cold mold between plots you're not pouring and dropping fast enough.

Well, before you Bubbafied the mold I'm pretty sure Lee woulda sent you a new one. They still might. They've been very very good to me.

Original Grace and Irwin wood handled screwdrivers are the GoTo for bench craftsmen. Not good for mechanical work where the handles become oil saturated.

My old Lyman pot is big enough that even my 6banger Saeco and Lee molds sit across the back during heat up and refill cycles.
