Anyone try using polymer coated Blue Bullets?

Pretty interesting. Up to now all I knew of were lead, moly coated, plated, jacketed.. enter the polymer coated blue bullet:

Looks funny but seems like an interesting concept. Anyone try loading these yet? Any feedback?

I have not used this particular outfit, but there is nothing new about polymer coated bullets. I have been shooting PC bullets since the late 80s and have never had anything bad to say about the coating concept.

Like any gun to bullet combination, you are forced to try some to see if the particular bullet and your gun get along. I still use some traditional cast designs that are not coated because I know them to be very accurate out of a particular rig. YMMV

There are more pros than cons with polymer coatings, so as long as they are not over charging, they are worth a look.

Thanks. Don't know where I was since the 80's, but somehow missed these projectiles. I'll likely start with a small batch (e.g. 500) to see how things go.

I've shot several hundred 115gr blues at ~1500fps and so far so good. They use a proprietary coating that is different than the Hi-tek coating most other coated brands use.

Have shot a few thousand in 9mm, over HP-38, 4.2 to 4.3 grains if I recall correctly. Seem to be accurate. (124/125 gr bullets)

I prefer the poly coated bullets from king shooters supply out of king of Prussia PA. And I'm not affiliated with any business listed.

I like the coated bullets from Eggleston Munitions. They claim it's a superduper special coating what is better than all others. ???

              Who knows?

Red, white and blue 9mm looks cool.

Not blue, but I have some red PC bullets for my .357/.38 reloads.

Is / are poly coated bullets the same as powder coated ?

I have shot probably close to 10k of the 125 grain in 9mm. No issues, other than you will have blue fingers from touching them. No leading in the barrel. The coating is incredibly hard. You can swath the bullets with pliers and the coating stays on.

USPSA GM Ben Stoeger uses them, so I'd say they were good to go.

I'm guessing the coating is "Hi Tek" coating.

Amazing. Don't know what cave I've been in.. didn't know these polymer coated bullets were so popular all this time. Thanks for the feedback, guys.
