7mm-08 toucjing lands fit into standard mag?

Hey everyone. I was curious if anyone had experience with this. If you hand load berger vld or hornady eld, and you bullet is touching the lands, does your ammo fit in the mag or do you have to single load them? I ask because i would like to do a 7mm-08 build and working out the details. i Would like to be able to use the magazine with my hand loads that touch the lands. My hand loads that sit off the lands in my 7mm rem mag fit perfectly in my ba stealth long action. was hoping the same holds true for the short action, if not i would order a 7mm-08 in a long action to facilitate this ability. Thank you in advance.

Ask the gunsmith doing your barrel what freebore his reamer has. The freebore lets you determine the over all length of your rounds based on the bullet you will be using.
The long action cures the problem.

To add to Lynn's answer, you can always order your own reamer from Pacific Tool and Gauge as well. Then you'll know for a fact that they fit.

The other issue you can run into in a short action is the opening on the action may be to short. You can buy mags that will give you extra length, but they'll be longer than the floor opening in the action.

Get the long action and you can seat it out as far as you want to. You'll have a slightly longer bolt throw and weight though. So it depends on how picky you are about that.
