Have the day off and hoping to get some reloading done...Reloading 45 ACP, got thru 25 rounds and broke my Dillon 650!!!
At first, I thought the press got caught up on a case cuz it came to a hard stop, peeked down and saw a black plastic piece sitting across the shellplate with a bunch of spilled powder (great!). Carefully trying to clean everything up without making a bigger mess, I notice that the plastic piece was part of the primer cam!? (It's the thingy attached to the frame that advances the primers in the primer circle thingy
).
I didn't feel anything odd at all. It just broke??? Weird. Even weirder in that the only thing it does is advance that arm thingy. Not exactly a high stress part. And when I reload, I go slow and deliberate. Not like I'm trying to crank out 1k rounds in an hour.
Kudos to Dillon. I called them and a few minutes later, they've got a replacement part out in the mail to me! Right on!!! The CS guy I talked to said he never heard of anyone breaking one of these things before. Oh well, I guess I gotta be 'that guy'! LOL!
