The problem with the BARs is when you take them to the range you never get to shoot them because everyone wants to talk about the cool rifle.
The cases look re loadable to me if the expander ball can get in the mouth.
M1 ammo is fine and proper.
Mine loves 155gr hpbt (sierra) and H-4895.

Play with the gas adjustment, you'll find a setting that works.

Pick up a tapered drift pin and straighten neck before sizing.

Or use a needle nose pliers.

        I would shoot them.

Yeah they should resize fine. Have had much worse.

Yeah that mouth is mangled for sure...

Dent it shoulder and body will push out on firing.

Yes, it is, and works well. Another easy peasy tip is a "nail set" like carpenters use.

Take care not to go overboard with either. You don't want to "bell" the mouth, just straighten it enough that the expander ball can do its job in the sizer.

Get a pair of wire forming pliers (round jaws made for forming eyes in solid core wire.) Lot faster than pounding a drift into each case. You don't have to get the mouth round; just need to open it up enough so the expander ball doesn't fold the brass.

I will trade you your rifle for my browning buck mark with upgraded williams fire sights and tactical solutions barrel...

I will even give you all original parts that I have leftover. No need to pay me cash for anything, NSA, where you wanna meet?

AND because I am feeling generous, I will toss in 525 rds of 22lr ammo too...

Reloading those is not an issue, get a needle nose plier and jam it into the mouth of the cases to make them round again and then when you FL resize they should come out nicely. Dings in shoulder are nothing.

                    Nice rifle.

The mangled mouths on the cases is from ejecting of the brass and the dented shoulders are from a light load.
The cases are fine for reloading.
