If you want to throw off the popo at the ag station, just tell them you have illegal fruit, a spider monkey and maybe some prescription drugs. Hell, tell them you have a few illegal mexicans in our trunk. It will be a soverinet state by then. They wont even care about your ammo. haha

Not that I'm planning to buy ammo in Nevada and bring it across but...I probably drive through the I-80 ag station east of Truckee once or twice a week to get home from the nearest shooting area. I seem to recall one or two occasions when they asked where I'd been but I've never been stopped for an inspection. If you're pulling a trailer, you'll get stopped. If you have a deer in the back of your pickup, I guarantee you'll get stopped. Big rigs have to stop as well.

I'd say the ag inspection folks have more important concerns, like keeping out fruit flies and chronic wasting disease. If you have California plates, you're probably not going to get stopped. If you do, they'll be asking about food, not ammunition.

As far as prices, I'm not so sure dealers will raise their prices all that much. If they did, people would likely either shoot a lot less or do more reloading. Then again when I can pick up hundreds of brass pistol and .223 cases in a single scavenging outing I wonder how price sensitive shooters really are?

I drive an 18-wheeler and go through the ages stations every week (either I-80 or l-40).
          They just wave me through.

They usually just waive you through. But if you're all loaded down from a camping trip (or driving a panel truck or pulling a trailer) they will stop you to ask about where you've been and whether you have fresh fruit or vegetables.

Just put a temporary anti gun bumper sticker on your car/truck/suv when coming back for Nv, Az, Or. Make sure you put it over your NRA sticker .:-)

If they just wave everyone through then what is the point then? I never understood this. Scare tactic?

They ask for manifest of what we're hauling.
In the case of our company, we have probably 100 trucks pass through every day and they know we only haul possessed food. They're looking for fresh meat, dairy, and produce.
In my case, I've been through the stations 2-4 times every week for w 0 years. I know all of them.

And how will you ignore it when you go to buy ammo in CA?

                          Dear fools:
The "leaders" know exactly what they are doing.
They simply want their voters to see that they are "doing something." Emotions drive the Dems and problem solving would mean that they couldn't push for even more restrictions for the law-abiding. Do the druggies and gangs vote Dem or Rep?
Just remember: if you can bring in drugs, you can bring in guns and ammo to your heart's content and only the law-abiding obey the law.
I can see a gun store in Yuma doing a booming business.
Buy now and stock up. Start to reload. Move out of that state--I did and it is great.
