Dillon 650 and Mr Bullet feeder

Ok, I don't have the patients anymore and I am close to putting my double alpha Mr. Bullet Feeder on ebay.
Does anyone have a Mr. Bullet Feeder on a 650, and if so, do you have any issues? I did about 2k of 40cal and had issues with constantly double dropping and at times not dropping at all. I would adjust, adjust and adjust.
Today I changed over to 9mm and that actually went well, for about 30 rounds, then about ever 10 rounds the whole tube would empty and drop about 6.
So I am curious if anyone else has these issues or if they know a fix.

I don't load 40, but once the die is adjusted you will never see a double drop unless you have an upside-down bullet. Are you sure you're not feeding nose-first bullets into the die? If you are getting inverted bullets: make sure the press vibration is not being transmitted to the collator, check the angle of the collator, and really pay attention to the ramp adjustment. Some bullet profiles, Bayout 124gr TCG for example, require a very precise adjustment.

Consider a new bullet feeding die? Like Hornady or RCBS...

I have heard very good things about the MR Bulletfeeder. I really like what I see with the new models even. Now they take up even less room... I would stop, take it apart and start over from scratch setting it up and make SURE to follow directions to the T, BUT, before doing that, I would also consider googleing "bullet feeder too many" and other strings like that. Surely some dolt on you-tube has a video for it...

I had the same issue and talked to the inventor. Main reason extra drops happen is if the dropper is getting pulled. Take a look at the solution on the pic below. I have loaded 20K rounds since without problems.

The die is either not adjusted properly or the spring is probably too long and pulling look at the pic he posted above

Thank you for all the replies, info and help. First I can say the collator is excellent, I don't have any bullets that drop upside down. I adjusted that as it specified and that works well. I looked at the photo posted and mine is mounted almost identical. I may actually slide it forward a hair, but its close. I am going to take apart the dies and clean them and I will remount per the instructions. Lastly I have 15 minutes left I will search and see what I can find. This is a busy week, so I may not attempt this all until this weekend.
Lastly if all else fails petree_777, I will offer to you first.

Disconnect the wires from the bullet dropper & stretch the spring output assembly gradually to where the bullet dropper returns freely to its seated position. Secure the coiled section of wire some where to the casefeeder & have enough slack on the loose end so the bullet dropper can return freely to its seated position. I believe what's happening is the spring and/or wires are pulling the dropper enough to where they will not allow the dropper to reset.

I have also done this:



I snagged the spring from a female pneumatic quick disconnect fitting I had laying around, worked like a champ. Though it is a very clean fix, I no longer use it because that's not how the system was designed. I ended up stretching the spring & mounting the wires.....

In the picture there is a zip tie holding the upper section of the dropper to the powder measure. I have loaded 5k or so 9mm on my 1050 and about 2k .40 on my 650 using the mr bulletfeeder and have had no issues after adjusting. There is also another spot you can move the bearings to in the bottom of the dropper. I forget why you would move them but maybe that would help.
