I agree except with the length -
My 44 mag [ Desert eagle ] shoots better / more accurate with the 10 inch barrel than the 6 inch - but I really don't know if barrel is better , the gun likes the longer barrel , better balance -
There are so many variables - from open air to indoor range . [ 5 yard indoor - 10 yard outdoor - seems like a tighter group ]
It seems like my 1911 shoots better with the mussel brake the without it , but again that might be me .

Tony; my statement was that a longer barrel does not stabilize the bullet more than a short barrel. It's the twist rate that does that. If the exit velocities are the same from each barrel, stabilization of the projectile will be the same, short or long barrel.

Your 44Mag results are likely the increased sight radius more than inherent accuracy of barrel length.

Even given a fixed barrel length and twist rate, the permutations around things like powder brand, powder weight, bullet type, bullet weight, seating depth, etc., are such that you'd probably have shot the barrel out before running through all of them. So in general one can translate 'likes' as 'by chance or providence, I've found a load that works well in this rifle'.

You'd have to be quite a fastidious person to be compelled to clean after 40 rounds, but such folks do exist, and we all must find happiness in our own way, so if that works for you, booyah.

Since this is high-velocity rifle, I'm assuming that by 'leaded' you mean 'jacketed'; if so, then the order doesn't matter lead vs. non-lead; in both cases the barrel is encountering gilding metal.

I have nephews and nieces that also shoot .
The only time we / one of us shoots around 40 rounds thru one gun is if we hit problems [ electricy goes out , place is closing - etc ] But it does not matter how many rounds . magazines - the gun is cleaned within a day or 2 .
This will sound funny to some , but with at least 2 people showing up to reload and only one load master [ yes I have single stage and hand presses ] some one uses press , some one will clean his / her gun .
Then if more than 2 show up - there is decapping - cleaning primer pockets - putting in sonic / vibrator / tumbler . May be sifting out of media / drying / sorting out pins .
          Oh well that is me
