I load the same for varget as 4895 using a 75hornady.my loads are stout to some ,so load less than the 24.5 that I use.

I use a lot of AR Comp in 308 Win. have a few great loads, 155's and 175-178's, but it is a bit faster burning than Varget is, not in the Varget burn rate ball park.

I've not had very good luck with AR Comp in the heavier bullets in 223 Rem.

Yes, Reloader 15 is in the burn rate ball park as Varget, the only downside is Reloader 15 is temperature sensitive.

I use a bit of Reloader 15 also in 308 Win and 223 rem in the heavy bullet range. Works well as long as you're aware of the temperature issue.

            Use Hodgdon's site

So Hodgdon's website says 75 grain vld (not hornady). I assume the difference is slight? 21.2 grains to 32.8 max. Would I use this data and watch for pressure signs at the top end? Also, I do not have primers yet. What do you recommend?

Very slight difference. Always start low and work up. Primers I use CCI, but I have a steady supply. I'd run what you can get on the regular.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is why you have to recheck ANY data posted by anyone on the internet. There is NO WAY you're getting 32.8 grains of Varget in a 5.56 / 223 case. I would guess you meant 23.8 grains of Varget as maximum for the 75 grain VLD.

I use it exclusively now in 308; seems like a great powder. About to start using it in 223, where I hope I'll see the same thing. In LC brass with 168 SMKs, 40.0 has been a good load for me.
