Exactly what he says. Soapy water wash gets it "clean enough" to keep crap out of your dies and press if you care. I don't care.

Solar oven, I presume, is a commercial made solar oven generally used to cook with out of doors. It would work very well for drying brass without upseting the wife using the kitchen oven. I use a $10 garage sale toaster oven (which double as a powder coating oven ) in the winter and just the sun in the summer.

Some folks just do a soap/lemishine soak and call it good. Some just load dirty brass for plinking. Different strokes.

I like bright brass. It makes me happy.

I have a very large solar heater in my back yard deck that works great...but I can only use it from 10-4.

9mm, 45 ACP, .357 Magnum: Universal decapper, wet tumble with pins, sun and towel dry, prime as a separate operation with RCBS bench priming tool. Then load on a lee turret press with the decapping pin set to not touch the new primers, flare/powder drop, seating die and factory crimp die. I like working with clean brass and having clean primer pockets is a plus.

I deprime with the frankford - clean pockets and flash hole . Then tumble .
I reprime by hand [ Lee hand primer ]
So cases have been handled 4 or 5 times before getting close to press .
Bent bases , wall , dented or split cases seldom make it to tumbler - much less the repriming .
Most of time the cases are already sorted by the time I deprime [ 6 nephews and 2 nieces shoot / help reloading ]
I wear latex gloves when depriming - any little scrape or nick catches on the latex and I don't like handling the cases before they are cleaned .
I use all 5 stations on the load master - sizing , powder , set bullet , OAL length and last is crimping .
I don't / have not really had that much reloading of rifle brass , so trimming has not entered the process yet . 2 nephews just got the 308 / 762 rifles and 1000 rounds each , so I figure I have 2 to 3 months before we start that into the process .

For target/practice pistol loads: Tumble in walnut x2-3hrs > decap / resize > etc, etc > into the ammo can. No other tumbling. I don't separate cases by headstamp for these kinds of loads. Clean it, load it, shoot it.

For hunting or any kind of precision loads: Separate by headstamp, deprime with universal decapper > wet tumble with stainless pins/lemishine > into the oven for an hour at 200F> resize > trim > swage pockets if necessary > etc, etc.

When I said sort , I meant by caliber . The chrome / nickel ones are sorted out
              I don't bother with head stamps .
For hunting , I only use winchester cases and any other brand is either traded or given away .

I'll just lube and size/decap if I know the brass is from me.

Range brass or dirty I'll wash with a mix of vinegar and rinse. Dry and tumble. Lube size/decap then tumble again with a table spoon of shine. Trim, debur, charge and seat. Sort by head stamp and weight if I have time.
