        Thanks for posting. New reloaders need to know it can be easy to double charge a case. Unique is a great choice to begin with.

        Now the rifle calibers is different beast. For .223 Winchester 748 meters well and use the 62 grain bullets.

            Have a look at BE86. Right in that burn rate neighborhood but meters great in my Lee Disc and Auto Drum. Burns really clean for me as well.

            I've been using it in .45ACP and low pressure range fodder .44 Mag and .45LC.

            No reason it shouldn't be good in 9mm & .40 but I haven't loaded it in those yet.

                BE-86 and TAC are good choices of the newer design double based powders.

                Or CFE-pistol and CFE223

                Ideally you might want 3 powders with a faster powder option for 45.

                    I shot my first 2 batches yesterday, both 230g fmj 45acp.
                    1) bullseye 3.8g was way too low of a charge I had fte with them. That is the starting charge in my Lyman book.
                    2) unique 6g was just right, no failures and recoil felt right on in my xd45

                        Winchester 231 and/or Hogdgon/Hodgdon HP-38 (rumored to be the same stuff) is as universal as I've found across multiple calibers.

                        It's the Honda Civic of powder. I recommend starting with that powder then as you get fancier, branch off into more specific ones.

                            BE-86 would be good for your Pistol cartridges.

                            Maybe AR-Comp for your 223.
