Think I'll just head to primary arms this weekend and pick em up if they've got em in stock.

Do I need the go and no-go or just the no-go? Also, any way to check the ammo? I've got calipers but not sure that'll help except with the COAL...

If you have headspace gages. Find which gage your rifle "JUST CLOSES" on. You can then use the 32 acp case trick that I mentioned in post #14. To compare the gage that matches your chamber to the ammo shoulder.

A rifle chamber is a piece of steel with a hole in it. A cartridge gage is a piece of steel with a hole in it.

Ordered the case gauge from cabelas. Figure I'll go that route first and if that shows the ammo to be fine then I'll order the headspace gauges to check the chamber.

If you measure the length of the case from the shoulder to the case head before firing and again after firing why do you need a head space gage? The fired case should indicate the length of the chamber from the shoulder to the bolt face.

If you have a Wilson case gage and a head space gage you can verify the Wilson case gage, Problem: The head space gage will not indicate the length of the chamber from the shoulder of the chamber to the bolt face; unless you know your way around. If I was going to purchase a head space gage I would purchase a head space gage that is longer than a go-gage length gage.

Ended up having to run to Houston yesterday so threw the rifle in the car and stopped by a gunsmith after I was done working.

What I learned/now believe.

It is an excessive headspace issue however the problem is on the BCG side not the chamber side.

My bolt would close on the go and the no-go gauge.

A different bolt he had there would not close on the no-go gauge.

Most likely the issue is related to the actual bolt rather than the carrier but I'm not sure yet if it's related to the bolt face being overly recessed,or the lugs being to short or what the deal is.

I did have another BCG delivered yesterday though so I'm going to swap it out and call Phase 5 tactical to see what they say.
