Why Dillon?

When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones." -
I think the led kit is my next some what upgrade.... I did the shell plate bearing upgrade(and picked up a spare bearing kit for another 650)
I say somewhat upgrades because I think they are more of a comfort helpful add on compared to some brands that actually need a bunch of mods and tuning to work properly.
Are the mods needed to get a Dillon working reliably not at all as they are reliable out of the box compared to others you have to mod to get the priming system, etc to work reliably well somewhat as I've still never trusted that brand even after the mods.... the Dillons are more of a set and go deal.
I have my Square Deal B up for sale but I'm pulling the sale and keeping it as it's an awesome press. Plus I know if I sold it I would regret it kinda like that gun you sell and wish you hadn't.GeorgeComment

Now that I've used the press for a few sessions here are my impressions of the mods.
The LED light is a great option if you are not in a well lit area. Or just want more lighting to see your work area.
The spent and missed primer options is a convenience. While I was researching presses I saw folks were using blue tape to keep primers from bouncing out. Plus my press in indoor and didn't want my dogs eating primers.
As for the bullet tray. I think you can live without.
Overall I like the 650 very much!

Love my blue machine + the no B.S. Warranty. Here's a quote from Dillonprecision About us:
"Our products have thrived for several reasons. First, I run the company based on my philosophy. You treat other people the way you want to be treated. I don’t want people calling me up saying, “You miserable S.O.B., you sold me this machine and now you won’t help me.” I don’t want anyone mad at me. This is reflected in our warranty. No warranty cards, registration or serial numbers are necessary. Whether you are the first owner, or the seventeenth, all our hobby-level reloading machines have a lifetime warranty. If you break, damage or wear out anything on them, it will be fixed or replaced – whatever is necessary to restore the machine to normal operating condition. If a minor part is all that is needed, contact us and we will ship the part. (International customers pay the return shipping costs) If something major is damaged or broken, contact us and we issue the customer a return merchandise authorization-RMA- to return the item to us for repair. The customer pays the shipping; we fix or replace as is warranted. Only our commercial machine, the Super 1050, has a one-year warranty, as do all electrical/electronic products and textiles. Our customers understand that they have a best friend at our factory. We are only a phone call, FAX or E-mail away. In return we receive an incredible amount of customer loyalty".sigpicComment
