Dillon 650 Case Feeder Jams

I had an older case feeder that used ed that whit plastic part also and it jammed all the time.
Removing the white plastic part did help a lot but it increased the number of upside down cases but it was still must better then having the white part in place.
After 20+ years of use i sent my older xl650 in for a rebuild. The the older xl650 came back it had the new upgraded case feeder in place....hell the replaced 90% of the press for me including the main body!

Never go to the CG brain trust first. Always contact the manufacturer first. You probably have a less than 50% chanceof getting the right answer on CG.

When I load the feeder, I give the cases a shot of lube. And since it's out sight, it's out of mind as well. My rationale.

When I change calibers if it's looking gross I hit the plate with some rubbing alcohol and it cleans right up.

How many holes does your case feeder have for the white piece? I have an old one that has three and an older one that has two. The older one had jamming issues and Dillon told me to move the white piece farther away from where the brass falls out and make the third hole in the case feeder. Worked perfect after that.

I picked up a used 650 from a friend who bought it in the 90's. It was tooled for .45 and I'm switching it to 9mm. It keeps hanging up like this with my 9mm cases every 15 seconds or so. It doesn't matter how much or few cases I load inside the hopper.



I looked on Dillons website for replacement parts, but it looks like they have a new case feeder design out. I haven't contacted them yet, I wanted to tap the CG collective first

That's it!!! Easy fix. Just sand it flush so it doesn't catch. Get some 80-100 grit to get it down fast and go 400grit. Or just duct tape that area so it doesn't catch.

Bought my 650 way back when. It does the same thing occasionally. The bigger issue is that it will spill cases over the top. One of this days I'll call Dillon about it. My guess is they will say send it in and I'll get an upgraded unit back. Sent the press in years ago and they changed out 8 or 9 parts to bring it up to current specs. Even returned it with a new priming assy, even though I sent it in with out one.

The one thing I didn't like is that they replaced the shell plate carrier with a pot metal one. The original one was a nice machined steel piece.
