Dillon 650 Case Feeder Jams

I picked up a used 650 from a friend who bought it in the 90's. It was tooled for .45 and I'm switching it to 9mm. It keeps hanging up like this with my 9mm cases every 15 seconds or so. It doesn't matter how much or few cases I load inside the hopper.

I looked on Dillons website for replacement parts, but it looks like they have a new case feeder design out. I haven't contacted them yet, I wanted to tap the CG collective first

Anyone have any ideas?

9mm requires a different plate than the one used for 45. Did you change it?

I know. I mentioned that in my original post. They have a different design when I started looking for spare parts.

Is the point that it's catching on flush with the surface its mounted to? If not, think a screw from the outside into that piece would tighten it down enough?

And, since the new design is missing that part, what happens if you just removed it? Looks like its screwed in.

I was wondering who would mention that first? We have a winner!
When I load the feeder, I give the cases a shot of lube. And since it's out sight, it's out of mind as well. My rationale.

So I tried removing/repositioning the white piece. I actually ended up with cases fed upside down. I hit the leading edge of the white piece with some light sand paper to try to reprofile the edge and so far it's working like a charm!

Mine will feed the occasional case upside down too. Messes with my rhythm and I've yet to figure a way to stop it.

Glad you seem to have it figured out. I was going to suggest calling Dillon. The way they are with warranties and upgrading older equipment they may be willing to update it for you if the problem persists. The only issue I have with mine and 9mm is the cases getting stuck sideways at the top of the tube. From what I can tell it happens when the press flexes too much, currently building a new bench in the new house that will hopefully help.

How many washers under the plate? Some calibers require 2 washers, and that would cause a problem if so.

Also seen this happen with rotation speed of the feeder on High, if it has a low (the new ones do) setting try that. It will still drop cases faster then you can pull the handle.
