Help with setting up the loadmaster

I bought a used loadmaster, guy had it set up for 9mm, so those are the parts I have for it. I am not familiar with loadmaster.

I wish to reload for 40 and 45.

What lee part # will I need to make change?

    Thank you!

You will need new dies and the base plate specific to the caliber.

Actually I think the 9mm and 40SW use the same shellplate in the Loadmaster. Large primer feed for 45ACP (unless you have all small primer 45ACP brass)
      Luck favors the prepared.

The original battle plan did not survive initial contact with the enemy.

for .45 you will need a new shell plate.

I think the 9mm is a 19s or something? That is BETTER suited for .40 cal. FYI. The typical 9mm shellplate is also used for 40 cal as noted above.

If it was setup for 9mm then you will need to change out the primer assembly. for LPP when it comes to .45, for .40 SP is okay but hold old is it?

It might be possible that it needs updated primer assemblies. You should contact Lee and tell them what you have.

Other than that, I would suggest you pay close attention to detail on it and take it apart for cleaning before using it. Also pay attention to the indexing rod so you know which way the bevel end is facing when you put it back.

Did it come with everything? You might want to head over to Titan and make about a $90 order for the shell plate, dies, the tube holder and a collator if you do not have one yet. Also be sure to get a few PAWL/EJECTORS and an o-ring or two for the shell plate.

This is a VERY nice thing to have:

This is also nice for marathon priming and reloading:
http://www.titanreloading.com/lee-fo...h=lee%20primer They are cheaper and safer than Tube fed primer sticks and load up WAY faster.

If you have a grease gun, you might wanna fill up that zerk fitting too just to be safe. I am not certain when you are supposed to do it, I have done 15k+ on my LM and I have not done it yet but I suspect it might need it.

Be sure you understand the mechanics of how it works before you try to go fast on it. Also, make CERTAIN that you have it mounted rock solid. If it shakes, you are better off hand priming.

          The 45 ACP takes a 2L PLATE . The 9 mm and 40 S & W take a 19s
and the 10 mm auto takes plate 19L . Titan has been out of the spacers for a while , at least every time I think to check . If you find some , I use one for shells and 2 for bullets . So order 3 .
Just a word - -my 45 cases get stuck in tubes , grab where the spacer is and shake a little . I would order at least 3 spares .
Don't try to save a couple of bucks getting used plates off ebay - new ones are O K , BUT used ones - don't even bid on them . Same with dies - sometimes new is cheaper .
Ask any question , more people are going to start reloading - at least herein California .

Thanks for all the help, have a follow up question

The loadmaster also came with pacific dies, including 223 caliber, on the box shows part number 040224.

The pin on one die is bent, die reads "223 REM FL SIZER E" and on the top part that screws in it reads "61." I am not too familiar with pacific dies, does anyone know the part number to the pin that is bent on this die? thank you

It is probably the decapper rod pin . May or may not work . Replacing could be a hard to find item .
Easier to just buy another set of dies . Try to find a carbide one [ set ]
