Also, those random OAL could be most likely from a bad cast or plate of the projectile. Or that brass may have an issue. If the majority are that close, you're doing your part right.

[QUOTE=PTLaro;18303285]Yes it is a new Load Master. I think I need more time on it, but the using case lube did make a difference.
Die Setup
Deprime & size
Universal Deprimer with de-priming pin removed
Powder
Bullet Seating
Factory Crimp
Confused on your Die Setup
1) Deprime & Size - OK
2) Universal Deprimer with de-priming pin removed - you already deprimed in step 1, whats the purpose ?
3) Powder - OK
4) Bullet Seating - OK
5) Factory Crimp - OK
No expanding Die to bell case mouth ? would be between step 1 and 3sigpic"Don't mistake my kindness for weakness. I am kind to everyone, but when someone is unkind to me, weak is not what you are going to remember about me."

I have seen factory ammo (38 super Fiocchi) that varied by 0.015".Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.

Not so much for resizing but seating the bullet and move to the crimp stage. If the press isn't running smoothly, you will get wild variations in OAL. Lube helps smooth action of the press out, specifically the case/die interaction.Originally posted by pacratWhat part of Cuba are you located in, Havana? Or closer to Guantanamo?Comment

Lube definitely makes a difference with the tapered 9mm cases. 9mm is the only straight walled case that I lube, when I first started reloading 9mm, I didn't lube and there was so much resistance..... I had to buy longer lag bolts, haha
So lube helps with the overall loading process, not sure about OALLast edited by someoneeasy; 06-11-2016, 4:58 PM.Comment

No expanding Die to bell case mouth ? would be between step 1 and 3
Stage 1 universal decapping die
State 2 resize with decapping pin removed. Supposed to center case for better priming on this press.
I have no priming issues as explained in previous post so I am not worried about centering case on Stage 2 for better priming. I also want to only prime on stage 2 not do 2 things to the case on it.
I saw a recommendation
Stage 1 resize and decap
Stage 2 no die or use universal decapping with pin removed.
With Universal die it is suppose to help keep shell plate flat when it contacts more than just 2 dies.
Stage 3 Powder charge and bell (I left that out belling on 1st post)
Stage 4 seat bullet
Stage 5 factory crimp.
The case lube made the case that much easier to run thru dies thus smoothing out the operation.
The smooth operation helps when raising the ram and makes easier to push the handle down and that keeps the press from rocking forward.Comment

Case lube works well on a foolishly simple but not simply bulletproof press...
I started running the Hornady unique on all of my brass and it made it all run better as well. You should probably keep the lube for sure. I got the larger ball for the handle upgrade from Mikes. I aint complaining.
Inline fab looks good but damn they got dillon prices. I have not looked but it seems their average accessory STARTS at $50 or more...
I can not say much on the handle arm. It is nice to have that lever because it is great with the index rod but just certainly make sure you are hitting the stop and full pull every time. Sometimes I would even back up a tad and pull down again just to be certain that it went all of the way.
It is good to see that you have no issues with the priming. The #6 plate also fixes that i think, but you gotta bevel down each of the 5 slots a bit. Mike talked about it on the site.7 Billion people on the planet. They aint ALL gonna astronauts. Some will get hit by trains...

As for the priming, I bent the spring so bad that I removed it and everything worked well since then. Kinda by accident that it worked but I am not complaining.
I have read Mike's reloading bench topics and did not want to keep spending more money on priming.
I also watched a youtube video on Load Master and I asked him about any mods he did and he said he just lubed the press and all worked well. No mods.
As for the handle, I sit angled to the the press so I might just add some padding to the arm where it meets the handle. Inline accessories could add up fast.
The press is running just fine now.
